Celebrating a Decade of Giving to Tonopah Valley High School
The Whiskey Runners believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting the next generation. Our commitment to education and skills development has been the cornerstone of our mission for over a decade. This year marks our 10th year of contributing to the Tonopah Valley High School (TVHS) Skills Clubs and Classes, and we are proud to continue this tradition with our most recent donations.
For five years, we have been dedicated to providing scholarship money to students pursuing trades after completing their education. This initiative aims to empower young individuals to build rewarding careers in fields that are essential to our community's growth and sustainability. Our latest scholarship recipient, Damon Warren, exemplifies the spirit of dedication and hard work that we seek to encourage. As a TVHS senior, Damon has shown remarkable promise, and we are thrilled to award him a scholarship to support his journey into the trades.
In addition to our scholarship program, this year we have made significant contributions to various TVHS programs that nurture essential skills and creativity among students. We are excited to announce the following donations:
$1500 to the TVHS Construction and Graphic Arts Classes: These classes are instrumental in providing hands-on experience and fostering creativity among students. Our donation aims to enhance their learning environment and provide the necessary resources to support their projects.
$1500 to the Robotics Club: The Robotics Club at TVHS is a hub of innovation, where students learn about engineering, programming, and teamwork. Our contribution will help them acquire new equipment and participate in competitions, furthering their knowledge and skills.
$500 to the Early Childhood Development Class: For the first time, we are supporting the Early Childhood Development Class. This program is crucial in training students to become skilled professionals in the field of early childhood education, ensuring a bright future for the next generation.
These donations would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended our two major fundraising events: No Passports Required last November and the Annual Chili Cook Off in February. Your participation and generosity have directly contributed to these donations, making a tangible difference in the lives of TVHS students.
Our commitment to supporting education and skills development is unwavering, and we are always looking for ways to expand our impact. As we reflect on the successes of our past events, we are already gearing up for our next exciting event. No Passports Required 2024 will be held at A.J.'s Co-Op Grill on November 2nd. This event promises to be a day of fun, food, and community spirit, all in support of a great cause.
